All applicants can download sample test and orientation materials from the USMLE website. FSMB applicants will also receive these materials on a CD from their registration entity. Once registered, ECFMG applicants can request a CD using the appropriate form, available on the ECFMG website. NBME applicants can request that a CD be sent to them, by sending an e-mail to webmail@nbme.org . The materials on the CD and on the website are identical.
There are also frequently asked questions about the sample test materials. If you cannot find the answer to your question, you may either send your inquiry to USMLETech@nbme.org or call (215) 590-9700 between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, eastern time.
Your Scheduling Permit includes instructions on how to contact Prometric to schedule your appointment to test. Inquiries about your appointment, such as a request to reschedule an appointment within your eligibility period, must be directed to Prometric. For current information on the locations of Prometric Test Centers, visit the Prometric website at http://www.prometric.com.
After you have received your Scheduling Permit, you can contact Prometric directly, as instructed on the Permit, for current information on a particular test center.
Other Inquiries
If you have received a Scheduling Permit but experience a problem that Prometric is unable to resolve in scheduling your appointment or in administering your test on the testing day, you may contact your registration entity.
If you experience problems during the administration of Step 2 CS that test center staff were unable to resolve to your satisfaction, you may forward a written description of your experience to Test Administration, National Board of Medical Examiners, 3750 Market Street , Philadelphia , PA 19104-3102 USA . Written notification of problems experienced during administration of Step 2 CS must be received no later than three weeks after your test date. Your report will be thoroughly investigated and evaluated.
General inquiries for information on Step 3 application and medical licensure may be directed to the FSMB. Specific inquiries regarding licensure may be directed to the medical licensing authorities or their representatives as shown in the USMLE Bulletin of Information.
